Question:
Hello Mike....You talked to my dad about 2weeks ago. Al Morgan from raleigh nc. We have a land deal that should be final on wed of next week. If we drove to Fl and picked up the motor....would you sell it for 40k cash or cert. check?
Answer:
Hello Mr. Morgan, I donut want to call you JR as I donut know your first name and yes I did in fact talk with your farther Al on a couple of occasions about the Schmidt engine I have for sale. He was very honest about the situation on limited funds that are contingent on a future sale; I hope your deal goes well for you and your Dad. No matter what the out come of this relationship may be, I sincerely hope We can both have a continuing relationship as we are brothers of the great family of drag racers that help one another no matter what. Enough of this! Let me continue to be truthful with you, In the last conversation with your Dad I had stated that the bottom line price of $43,500 and that is my last counter offer, which is $ 5,000.00 below the asking price, which is $16,500 below the price of the same engine if you were to purchase the same equivalent engine today. Steve Schmidt has a great reputation for his engines and they keep their value. He is always willing to work with anyone who owns one of his creations new or used, for which I applaud him. We are willing to do the same. As I explained to your dad I work at an engine shop and I want to build a 815 cuin pro mod 5” BC nitrous engine and I need the $ 43,500 to pay for just the parts needed to produce the new monster motor. In fact I quoted the same exact 737 cuin engine I have today to a customer in Texas and the parts alone came to $42,865 that did not include split Dom carbs= $8,000 or keyed big bore lifteres= an ad on of =$1,500 . I sincerely hope you have an interest to carry this foreword. I have a 40 year back ground in drag racing and if I can help you in any way please contact me at Nelson competition racing racing engines or on my cell phone @ 941-812-2050. In closing remember this there are always sellers that are honest and buyers who want to steal something for nothing. You will always get what you pay for if honesty is a priority. Thank You for your interest, call me to make further arrangements Mike V On [2008-07-20 01:32:13] almorganjr wrote: > Hello Mike....You talked to my dad about 2weeks ago. Al Morgan from raleigh nc.
