BIO:
MEET JOHN FREEMAN

Full Name: John Swindell Freeman

Hometown: Huntersville, NC

Birthday: Jan. 1, 1987

Height: 5 ft. 9 in.

Weight: 160 lbs

John S. Freeman was born on New Years Day 1987 into a racing family. His mother and father are the 1984 NCCC Regional and National Champions. His father is the 1997 Lowe’s Motor Speedway Summer Shootout Champion and won the National Championship title in the Master’s Division of Legends Cars in 1998. That very same year, John S. began his racing career at the age of 11.

John was invited by Humpy Wheeler to compete in the first Bandolero prototype race and he has been racing ever since.

John ran two years in the Bandolero Bandits Division and one year in the
Young Gun Division, winning his first race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in the fall of 1998 before the IRL race.

During the 1999 Nationals at Atlanta Motor Speedway, John brought home five trophies… Fast Qualifier, Thursday Thunder Feature winner, Heat Race winner, second in “race of the States” and fifth in the Nation. In 2001, John began his Legend career with his first race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He had feature wins at Concord Motorsport Park, and continued his racing at Lowe’s Motor Speedway Summer Shootout, finishing top five in the points for both the 2001 and 2002 seasons.
In 2003, in the nationally televised Lowe’s Motor Speedway Summer Shootout Series, John won the points championship with two features wins and seven out of the 10 Top four finishes. He also won the Lowe’s Motor Speedway Red, White and Blue Championship for 2003.

In January and 2004, Humpy Wheeler hosted a Media Tour at 600 Racing for 170 plus reporters. John was one of seven drivers invited to be introduced to them as one of their “Young Guns.” When being introduced, the media was told “you should remember these names as they will be contending for wins on Sunday in then future.” This is John’s goal.

In 2004, being a rookie in the Thunder Roadster Division, John won the Lowe’s Motor Speedway Hardee’s Summer Shootout Points Championship. John won the Lowe’s Motor Speedway’s Red, White and Blue Championship, as well as a participating in the Red bull Driver Search. John also won the 2004 North Carolina State in the Thunder Roadster Division.

2005 was an impressive year for John. He moved up to Late Model Stock cars competing weekly at Concord Motorsports Park. There he brought home three top-five finishes and 17 top-10's in 20 events.

In 2006 John once again made a step up, this time looking toward the NASCAR Busch East Series. There he found a home racing with a FitzBradshaw No. 22 entry sponsored by Supercuts. Together, the team brought home two top-10 finishes and qualified for and finished 11th in the competitive 2007 Toyota All Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway.
