Hi All!!!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you watched the first NHRA race at NC's new ZMax track too! What a beautiful track!
Well there was alot of rain at Epping! OMG! there was darn river going through the pits in the morning on Saturday when Jeff and i got up! I coudnt believe it! The boys ran one run on Friday & qualified, woohoo! ..I got there Friday night, afterwards =( . We had a bit of a bummer on Sunday when we ran Jack Wyatt...Jeff lost on a whole shot...Jack apologized up and down for turning on both bulbs by mistake...and its kewl, we still love you! it was a total mistake, it happens. but there was more to it on our side...Jeffs brakes were a bit glazed and he couldnt hold it and then he had trouble getting it on the high side... so his game was off for the start...no he wasnt sleeping or eating tacos on the starting line...haha! oh yea, it did blow the burst panel on the last run too...Anyway...that was the deal & so even though he ran a better run, he lost to Senor Wyatt. Our car is running soooo well right now, its a bummer this isnt one of the first races of the season! We had a bit of a hard time this year with changes & not having a solid tuner - but we did get some help from a few good friends, Bobby Lagana Jr. of T/F IHRA & NHRA & Tony Shortall of T/F ranks at NHRA, being 2 of them. Thank you guys!!! you rock! =) Jeff has pretty much been doing the tuning himself recently though -which even though its more work for him, I think its a good idea - even more hands on- he knows whats happening, whats being done to the car etc.. ya know. But we have finally gotten our racecar back & are totally looking forward to the new season and of course the last race at The Rock in October!!!!!! Oh yeahhhhh, and also...Dom Lagana ran a 4.74/ 285 mph on Sunday!!!!!!! So proud! Go Dom!!!!
I'd also like to thank our super great friends in Bobby Lagana's camp for the absolutely knock down- drag out good time at dinner!!! xoxox!
We also celebrated one of our crew members -Keith Wilson's birthday! Happy Birthday Keith & thank you for spending your weekend with us!!!!! you rule!

Here are a few pics from our pits -by our great friend, Bob Z!

Hey guys! Today is friday the 29th...and theres not too much to report here... really just working & getting ready for the next race in Epping, New Hampshire next weekend. At the last race in Tulsa, I didnt go..team money is tight because we dont have a big paying sponsor & we pretty much had to leave most of the crew at home too. But the guys did the best they could (Bill, Jeff, Keith & Dustin) and made it to the first round...but the car ended up smoking the tires..and that was that! =P I would like to thank Al Morton & the local boys from Tulsa that helped out on the car as well (still working on getting all your names from my busy husband).

Diehl vs Hagen! too kewl! Hey Hagen, great job in INDY, watched it on the big screen!!!

So 2 more races to go...New Hampshire & North Carolina...
Hey everyone!
Wow, well- Im finally home...i've been away on the road with my husband and our team for the last month or so. We drove across country in a rental van because we had to bring in some new and extra parts for the racecar...finally got to Ohio to our good friends home & shop, Bullet Bob & Cathie Floch, where we stay when we are on the road, in between races- we immediately began the repairing and servicing of the car. We then drove to the race in Canada..did ok...but we found that during the night run at Grand Bend- that there had been something left on the track -that wasnt seen during the clean up i guess and in the dark at the end of the track Jeff ran over it and it did quite a bit of damage to the chassis, so that had to be repaired as well. We were really lucky it didnt get a tire!
Anyway, our next race was Martin, Michigan. The car ran really well, we were finally getting it back in top shape from how it ran last year -made it to the first round and after the burnout there was a small fuel leak, and we didnt get the body up in time and had to shut it off.. OMG -what a bummer. But our next race is in Tulsa, Ok. and our car is soooooo ready to go kick some butt! Sooo, 3 more races to go- i cant believe the season is almost over already!
I do have to add that while we were in Ohio at Bullet Bobs, Jeff drove Bullets fuel altered at a match race in Pennsylvania! What a total blast that was! Took us back to our days of running our evil fuel altered "The Witch Doctor"!

ok, I'l be back with a few more updates & photos soon...i need to get back to work on my orders! Thanks for looking!! =)
Good morning kids! hhhh, Today is Wednesday...and my Jeff is in Canada for the race in Edmonton this weekend. I will be sure to get photos from the guys to post all the happenings.

She absolutely freaks out!!! Anyone that knows Lucy...and has been around her at the track or during the 4th of July, knows about this. Lucy is so excited! shes been hearing people lighting off fireworks here & there for the past few days & she knows whats coming!!! hahaha! This foto came courtesty of www.bobzphotography.com

**THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA BAG IS FINALLY BACK!!!!
ALL NEW ITEMS & COLORS BEING ADDED DAILY**
Hi everyone!!!! Well I'm back from the MIR-Budds Creek race this past weekend. We went there with high hopes of doing well and maybe even pulling off another win there as we had in 2006, which was my Husband Jeff's first Nitro Funnycar Win for his career. But, I have some sad news...We only got though 2 qualifying runs and hit #10 -when the rain came! As hard as we always try, you can't compete with Mother Nature! The field was set at 8 cars & that didnt include us. What a heartbreaker! But I will tell you that our tuning buddy from NHRA, Tony Shortall & the rest of our incredible team went through our entire car & found some things that were messed up and fixed them & tweaked them & we should be back in the green with our hotrod for the next race in Canada!
Tony's new wife & my best friend, model & barber-Gretchen Shortall was there all weekend with us too -running around and helping out and keeping everyone in stitches with her fabulous sense of humour and "dropdead gorgeous-ness"! It was really nice to have her there & we are super thankful to our buddy Tony as well, who was getting tons of props over the loud speaker all weekend! haha! Im sure there will be some pictures showing up -so as soon as I get them, I will post a few here.
For now, I'm back here in California- trying to get back to work on my Nitro*A*gogo! orders after a long full day of flights home just to get ready to go again in 3 weeks. I will be back to post some photos in the next day or so.
Ok, thank you for looking & talk to you soooon!
;) Have a happy day! -Leeza
ok,here are a few photos! courtesy of www.bobzphotography.com

This Is Mrs. Leeza Diehl. I am Jeff "The Surfer" Diehl's wife & back up girl in Pro Nitro FC. Thank you for having me on here! This should be lots of fun. I'm thinking that basically I will do a little sharing of our race team travels, times at the track, some stats from the races, photos & a bit here and there about my design business, Nitro*A*gogo! www.nitroagogo.com.
Quick catch up: So far this year our team, "Ideal Racing" from California, has made it to the first 3 races...which is new for us, as we usually start later in the season...but we decided to go for it & try to make as many races as we could possibly pull off this season. So we started off at the first in San Antonio, Tx. -our first run was like a wicked black bullet being shot out of a gun...I think everyone on the starting line was suprized! I know it got Jeff's attention! It was a fabulous run & we got low E.T.! We worked the rest of the weekend getting the bugs out & working on getting the clutch straightened out. Next was Rockingham, NC. then onto Milan, Mich. where we qualified 3rd!!!! woohoo!....even though it went in the sand. We had put a new body on the car & the levers for the chutes were in a differnt spot..so when Jeff went to hit the chutes...nothing happened, the levers weren't there...eek..he tried to get them again in the new spot..but it was too late. We cleaned up the car & repaired the nose of the body, put it back on and continued the race! Thats my boys! They did a fabulous job!!!
The photo below is from Milan. -courtesy of IHRA & competitionplus.com

Our next race is next weekend at Budds Creek, MD. from 6/13-6/15. Wish us luck...I'll be in touch when we get home!
Thanks for looking! C YA!! ;)
