Gilby's Nitro Mania Blastoff Blog

Hey all you IHRA drag racing fans, this is Bob
Gilbertson typing at you for our very first blog here on IHRA dot
com.

When my PR flack "Berserko" Bob told me that we
were invited to blog over here I jumped at the chance to be able to connect with
all you IHRA fans. He'll handle most of the blogging in the future but I just
wanted to stop in here to kick it off.

Where do I start...

First I want to give a shout out to everyone at
Live Nation who run both the IHRA drag racing series and also the Toyota
Arenacross series in which my Trick Tank Motocross team participates in. We run
the IHRA during the drag season and race the Arenacross series during the winter
and everyone involved with Live Nation is super. I'm pleased to let you know
that all four of our team riders, Jake Gilbertson, Justin Hopson, Josh Harris
and Jim Chester have qualified for the Live Nation US Open of Arenacross in Las
Vegas in October, the most prestigious race of the year. To learn more about
this go to: www.jakegilbertson.com or http://www.arenacross.com/

Now let's get to drag racing. As you probably
know we competed the past two years in the IHRA Torco Race Fuels Nitro Funny Car
class ending up with a third place finish in the points both times. That's
going to change this year, our goal is to win every race and claim the big
trophy at the end of the year.

Can that happen? Yes it can and I'll tell you
why we're so optimistically confident. First off my old crew chief, Nicky
Boninfante Jr. is back. Last year Nicky tuned Bruce Litton to his first IHRA
Championship and I've got all the confidence in the world that he can do the
same here, our results from the NHRA race last week in Houston proved that we're
on the right track.

Another reason I feel so confident is that we've
got a new marketing partner on the flanks of the car, Tradicion Azul Tequila.
They're a great group of folks and this weekend's San Antonio race will be their
first time at a IHRA National event and the team and I are going to do whatever
it takes to send them home with an Iron Man trophy. To learn more about our
team go to: www.bobgilbertson.com and please visit
the Tradicion Azul Tequila website: http://www.tradicionazul.com/

To kick off the Tradicion Azul Tequila promotion
and being that their slogan is "Everybody has a Tequila story, what's yours?"
we're going to have a contest. Tell us your favorite Tequila story by emailing
it to the address below and maybe, just maybe you'll win a really swell
prize.

Well that's it for now, the team is already in
San Antonio getting ready for the first IHRA race of the season and we're
chomping at the bit to get on the track. Being that this is an 1/8th mile race
and looking at our numbers from Houston last weekend we're all looking forward
to running some big numbers this weekend.

If you going to be in San Antonio make it a point
to stop by and tell us your "Tequila Story."
